Under 100 Days to stop UKIP

With less than days to go before the European Elections, the Liberal Democrats are the only party campaigning to keep Britain IN Europe.

Today, Nick Clegg has warned that if UKIP wins and takes us out of Europe, it would wreck the recovery and risk 3 million British jobs.

The Conservatives are flirting with exit from Europe and the Labour party cannot pluck up the courage to speak up. Only the Liberal Democrats are fighting to keep Britain IN Europe.

We're IN for the sake of 3 million jobs. We're IN so that we can work with our neighbours to tackle cross-border crime and fight climate change. We're IN because we know that Britain can only stand tall in the world if we stand tall in our own back yard.

Tell us why you are IN.

The more people who shout about why they think Britain is better off IN Europe, the more chance we have of stopping UKIP.

Why are you IN?

2,951 reasons

I think Britain is better off IN Europe because...

IN because of trade; IN because size of multinationals means monopolies would result from being Out; IN to keep Germany IN & Soviet Out; IN because we need moderate PR governments’ human rights which Tories in FPTP would remove; IN to improve chances of getting PR.

I’m in as it is needed and essential at this time. I will like to be a voice for the people and also help those in need. There is a cry out for help as I work with people for those that are in need, young people and homeless people. I see the need to give people the right tool with which they can be able to stand on their feet. This can only be done by getting people back to work, having good health facilities, good policing and also above all good government that cares about the need of the masses.

if we want to influence the debate in Europe, its reform, its direction and share in its achievements, we need to be in.

We will ultimately be heavily affected by EU policy, regardless of our EU membership. As the third most populated EU country, we will get 10.4% of the representation in the EU parliament after this election, giving us a huge amount of say over policies which would effect us anyway.

100% in! Think we would be crazy to come out. Immigration is not the issue here the economy is.

Out we are a small island of decreasing significance in a world changing fast and where only alliances like the EU and existing emerging super powers will count.

IN is the way of peace and prosperity

OUT is the way of continued, even accelerated decline

On a more personal note, the EU has enriched my life in countless ways. I have lived/worked in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. Outside of the EU it would have been a lot more difficult to access those countries and I would have been a less interesting job candidate if foreign companies had had to jump through extra administrative hoops to hire me. I know the EU is not perfect, but better to try to change what doesn’t work from the inside, than be shut out from the marvelous opportunities it provides. I’m convinced those who vote ‘out’ are not aware of the harmful effect withdrawal would have on foreign direct investment into the UK – i.e. jobs. The press is very good at highlighting the negatives (because that makes for more interesting reading than positives), which gives an unbalanced view of the pros and cons of the EU. That said, the EU and the CBI need to do a far better job of explaining the benefits of EU membership to the electorate.

Because Europe united, we have more potential than many small countries when we deal with trade, science innovation, defense and cultural development.

I have travelled widely in Europe. Once in Strasbourg I was invited to attend a song and dance display by amateurs from different European counties. I decided that was what the EU is all about: sharing what makes our own country unique; and enjoying the gifts which people from other countries can contribute.

We must remain a major player within the European team and not become isolated. The collective strength of the EU is extremely important if we are going to safeguard jobs, fight global crime and open up more opportunities for our children in the future.

The EU-US free trade treaty is going help destroy the NHS and we all hate the NHS don’t we boys and girls? All that glitters is not gold. Sometimes it’s sh*t with sprinkles on top.

I want job protection for UK people — stop/penalise internationals companies sending jobs abroad

The alternative is premeditated suicide. GB does well in #EU thanks to more efficient financial services but with a wide open market next door.
